DIY flagpole help?

I'm trying to make a super budget flag pole, the pole needs to be able to support a 5ft/3ft flag, it also needs to be collapsible so I can carry it fairly easily.

Any ideas? The best idea I can think of is maybe getting some plumbing pipe and I think they come with connectors so I can take like 3 small pieces of pipe connect it up, slam the flag on and smash it into the floor.

My other ideas involve a shit load of gaffa tape

yeah, I've just bought one actually, managed to find a 4metre one for £12, probably couldn't of made it for any cheaper than that!

Very unlikely to be going to be honest, just bought a house so I'm so skint right now.

This flags for IOW next week, pretty average lineup but loads of mates going so should be a good crack, if I do go to cream I'll let you know
