So off to IOW Festival on Thursday!!


What are some essentials that I need to take to a festival??

I'm also off to IOW this thursday, I have a huge communist Russian flag so look out for it and come say Hi if you see me.

I went last year and it was the wettest fest I've ever been to.

As for taking - take booze, tent, shit rain cover thing (£1 from poundland), inflatable pillow from poundland, narcotics, bit of food and a shit load of cash it will be at least £4 a pint.

I'd recommend sleeping on your phone/wallet because it's pretty common for people to come around tents looking for people knocked out/sleeping and rob them, if they look in the tent and you're awake they will just say "oh sorry wrong tent" and move on.

I always have a big Maglite torch in my tent for the exact reason Mr Orange just mentioned. Anyone comes in the tent then you can batter them with it. Same for any twats who jump/fall on the tent.

Water carrier, to save you walking back and forth from the water spout with just a c0ke bottle.
Lots of scooby snacks, flapjacks, food you can eat cold, beans, boil in the bag stuff (it's always already cooked)
Tp is a must, Failing that, go to your local millets and buy everything.

I'd been there an hour, i got a weekend ticket 25 minutes before we set off.. Stealing was the easiest option.. Find a spot with not many people, and an empty tent, and its yours..

Who will find it again among millions?

My advice for the KEY items would be wellies, TP, a towel (though every festival I've been to I end up dirtier after the shower -.-) and a fair bit of spare clothing. It always rains hard and you always get covered in mud, a few spare pairs of jeans is like gold-dust as far as I'm concerned.

Oh and if you're going in a group, this year we are chipping in to buy a £30 marquee so if it does rain we can still sit on chairs outside. £2-3 each so we'll just leave it there, whenever I wonder around at festivals I always end up wishing I had one there.

a box of imodium so you don't need to use the toilets, baby wipes (as the queues for the shower's are always horrendous) and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty as it will invariably be muddy
