basically I am buying a gti but the brake peddle is very hard and has not got a lot of stopping power.
I did search but couldn't find anything... Whats the problem guys?

Either as blackie says its been standing or the sevo could be buggered and not getting a vacume

Split in the vac pipe... Corroded plastic, or servo...

Could be cheap pads and discs.
As above though, check vacuum pipes. especially at the manifold, I've heard of them snapping off before.

The last time my brakes done this a couple of cars ago, it was also reving itself due to air getting into the engine without any sensors detecting it? Iirc it was reving to 2.5krpm.
I thought maybe they need bled?

sounds like a vacuum feed to the servo, either popped off or split.
Revving issue could be ICV but it could also be a vacuum leak

that was my last vtr that done this when the brakes fucked up put the clip that hold the vacuum hose onto the inlet had shat itself :n:
fuck it getting a bargain anyway :y:
