I have had an IM axle on my car for the past 2 years now, and i have noticed that my rear ARB end plate (on drivers side IIRC) has come loose and the bolt head has sheared off! :fcuk:

I'm just after some advice... :y:

-what does this mean?
-can it just be drilled and re-tapped and bolted back on? happy days :drink:

...or does it mean i have damaged my axle?

I don't know how long it's been like this as i have only just seen it when taking the wheel off...

Bit of a nooobie question.. but any answers?

many thanks :D :y:

Either try and knock it round and out, but it most likely seized, so just drill it out and re-tap the hole out:y:

thanks for the reply!

I will get on with that asap then :y:

So it wont have caused any damage to the axle?

Also, found another thread saying the bolt is M8 by 20 (10.9 tensile)
Anyone confirm this?

Shouldn't have done any damage unless its buggered the seals on the end plate itself.

You might find it hard knocking it out with the rear arms being cast. also if you have to drill it out then do both sided and use a bigger bolt like a m10 with the highest tensile you can buy.
