hi peeps
i am in uber need of some tips from you cleaning gods !
ok i have a silver 02 desire .. pics added
(ps i know it needs modding ... just saving up in my paypal account for that)
.... and i want to make it look super shiney and mint !
so far i have an auto glym pack containing
car glass polish,
bumper care,
super resin polish
body work shampoo and conditioner
tar remover
paint renovator
and clean wheels (unused as yet)
i also have turtle wax it wet spray (for when im feeling lazy and just want a quick shine)
and turtle zip wax
BUT !
i dont think im getting the best out of the car ... i have just purchased a cheap 19.99 polisher from argos -> link ->http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7506693.htm
and i plan on buying a clay bar to use .... but im curious as to what polish or gloss or whatever you all think would work best with my metalic paint ...
then all i need is the weather to stay nice for long enough for me to clean it (dont wana clean it and then have i rain the next day) ....
so please help ... and let me know what you think i should use ...
thanks in advance :D

1. Megs paint cleaner
2. Megs deep shine
3. Megs canubra wax
I would ask Polished Bliss to be honest if your looking for brilliant results, silver cars are a pain in the arse to get a nice deep shine on. Check this this thread and read what polishedbliss used. It's a silver landrover so basiclly the same colour as your car.

best off using the polisher with the step 1 as the other two can be done by hand and it will save you on product. only reason why i keep on saying Meg's is that it is now widely available for people to buy but they are still top dogs.

well my plan was to use the one step first ... and then do the rest by hand ... but just buff it with the polisher ... that be ok ?

It has it's dis-advantages, Like when you apply it and buff it off on a dark colour like mine, It dosent show the patches you have missed to buff. So a week later it shows up on your paint work and it's a pain in the arse to get off, Also if you get it on the black seal around your doors etc it's very hard to get off.
The actual product is good though dont get me wrong, gives it a nice shine but if your going to use it mask around your windows etc so it dosent get on them.

It's in a garage matey, and even if it did rain it wouldent do anything. You will find if you wax your car propelly rain will form beads and just drip of your car.

suppose you can always jsut give it a quick wipe down if it needs it .... sadly my car dosent stay in the garage ... so when i do it i run the risk of hours of work down the pan !

If you give it the 3 step by Megs (what iv'e used before) rain wont effect it honestlly, it will just fall of the car.. shouldent leave streak marks etc. The only thing what will do something is mud etc coming up of the roads but theres nothing you can do about that.

For me, on metallic silver, the only way to go is the Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic range - Prime, then lots of coats of Trigger. This is what mine will be wearing at TRAX. :)
