Having trouble finding a gearbox for my vtr which will be running around 240bhp, been told that a standard vtr box wont hack it, anyone give me ideas or personal opinions on what box to use as im stuck
Cheers

Only thing stronger would be to convert it to a BE box that they mated to the XU engines and the larger peugeots such as the 306. Is it turbo'd?
Vtr box with an ATB diff would be ok for a while if driven with mechanical sympathy tbh. And the diff would make the car a LOT more drivable.

Depends on the torque really, and how well chosen and mapped the turbo is, there's quite a few race cars not far off that power but likely to be far less torque, and they do still need to service the boxes fairly regularly and have a very large degree of mechanical sympathy.

how much is a diff for a VTR box?
John (gmc) has the quaife on offer at the moment iirc. Give him a call. Around £550 from memory.
It is all about the torque tho as said. The physical casings twist and pull the gears apart on high load.
