Hello, i fitted a bottom strut brace to my vts and when i get to certain revs my car now rattles and when i hit bumps it clunks, was wondering if anyone could think of any reasons why this could be? The nuts are tight and you cant move it by pushing on it and it is clear of the exhaust. Thanks

It's causing extra stress on other parts.

My guess is the rear wishbone bolts, give them a torque up. you get to them by peeling back the carpet.

Unless you are racing competitively, a lower strut brace is utterly useless. in my opinion :p

The exhaust might be clear of the strut when mounting it. But the exhaust vibrates a lot when driving. The whole engine moves when pressing the clutch.
If you uprate your lower engine mount for a Powerflexx it should be fixed. Or hammer the strut 'flat' in the middle where the exhaust is. This makes the brace more 'flexible' though.

Best bang for buck mod there is imho. Really improves the handling.

Well, that's fine if you're on smooth tarmac. :homme:

Thanks guys, will give it all a go! I have fitted 2 new wishbones before i got it on the road, had all new suspension, drop links the lot and i frequently get through drop links! I will put a new mount on, can you get them off ebay? Really appreciate it guys, been driving me crazy when i drive!

As for the strut brace, i have a lot of twisties around where i live and they are all fast corners so i tried it and i love it, top and bottom!

just asking, was it a new strut or used? as a friend of mine just caught his and it bent it, but to look at it, it was straight. this then caused exhaust to rattle when u sat in it. just a thought

I always found my pugsport was very close to my brace when moving. Static it was fine but some adjustment on the exhaust helped the banging and rattles.
