What do I do.....

Not really car related but could do with advice....

I have been living in flat with my mate for past 18 months and it has come to the time where I am unhappy at the moment.

Just feels like im pouring money into an empty hole when I really could be saving the amount I pay out each month for living in a rented flat.

I pay out about 350 quid a month in total at living in a flat with my mate.

Past couple of months his missus has kind of moved in but not officaly....she is there 4 nights a week average now and it pisses me off....I have mentioned to him about this and he never gives me a decent reply to what the situation is.

Do I go back home and live with my Mum and little brother? She said I could come back but would it be a big affect from living in my own place. I get on well with my mum and she keeps my business my business...she doesnt stick her ore in at all.....fareplay:thumbup: .

I want to live a little and go on holiday and not be scraping into my overdraft to find money for a night out after forking out for bills.

Its either have a flat or a car.......But I really like driving so losing a car would be out of the question

Has anyone else moved out and then moved back in so to speak?

Adam:wink:

I want to get my own place but atm i want to live how i want.

Blow 300-400 on an xbox. Pay stupid ammounts car insurance, go on holiday whenever i please.

All that i couldnt do if i got my own gaff.

Everything has its ups and downs but if i was you i would move back home. Sort yourself out do what you want then think about moving out.

Give your mate an ultimatum (spelling) and say she can start paying rent or im out of here.. then she will soon bugger off

If not move home.. but then suffer the insults down the pub

AdamW

Not really fussed about the insults......as I am the only one who does not live at home apart from my flatmate of course.....

So going back home would mean I had more cash to do things with my mates.

Not really all her fault......its my cash flow aswell...but she seems to want to move in...maybe I will do him a favour when I move out

See im a bit lucky with how my house is set up, Im on the third floor of the house. At bottom of the stairs i have a lock so i have the full floor to myself.

In my room i have a stella fridge. Sky, TV, Phone and interent.

I could live in my room and never see my mum.

When I was 19 I moved out cos I got a good job 120 miles from home. Then the job ended 2 years later, and I moved back!! And I loved all the home comforts which I had forgotten about! Ace!

AdamW
29th August 2006, 14:33
What kind of notice do I have to give the landlord? Any Ideas.....the landlord is my flatmates dad

Clouds_mate
29th August 2006, 14:35
dont think you would if your mate is still having the flat as it wont effect the landlord as long as he gets his money for the flat.

Maybe you should talk to your mate about his money situtation and if he can afford to do it hiself then if he isnt able then speak to the landlord about moving on out.....mpeople

Same...

Apart from those awkward moments where you cross your mum on the way out....

:P

Maybe your flatmate is sorta trying to force you out by having his bird round all the time, and when you do leave she will move in?

Ryan21
29th August 2006, 14:59
I moved out when i was 16 years old, On my tod... and managed, moved back in at 18, moved back out at 21....

I'm now 22, Got an 110k mortgage, Saxo VTR, Insurance etc etc etc...

I manage easy, its called budgeting your dough, be lighter on the pedal....

Just cut back where u can, Stop smoking a 20 bag of weed per day and cut it back to every two days...

It soon adds up, but no matter what....i would never move back home independece is the key!!!

Ryan21
29th August 2006, 15:07
Thats what id say, I have a daughter on the way so moving back is not an option, but if i was in your position i'd be straight back

Free meals
No ironing
No cleaning
no bills

But, You have to smoke out the bedroom window and a towel closing the gap at the bottom of bedroom door, specially if its green your smoking on!!!

I would move back home Adam, at the end of the day you are 20 and still got to live your life..

Time to save money, blow some when you feel like it and at least you get left alone.

It's like that at my house, I pay £80 a month. I get my ironing, cleaning and cooking done from all that. I have wireless internet in my room, TV, DVD, Hi-Fi, PS2.

Do it mate...
