Hi everyone im Alastair, Im pleased to say that i am now a proud owner of a dark blue VTR X REG 2001. I brought it yesterday and the drive home was amazing :P. I think one of the previous owners was a member as its already got the stickers of the site on the car.

A few things i want to mention, the seats are in a dire state is there anyone that has any for sale?? Ive been on a auction site and to be honest i want the 106 leathers in her, i think they will compliment the car well.

Also i havent got a carpet for the boot, im in the process of speaking to scrap yards that unfournatley have saxos there :(, so i hope they can help me.

My radio does not work either, i took it out this morning to have a look and one of the leads wasnt connected, i reconnected it but it still does not turn on, is it worthwhile going to a audio place letting them have a look at it or is it a simple job. If any of you live in Weymouth and fancy coming round and having a peek at her than your more than welcome, it does need a clean though which im gonna go and do now :D, i live up the hill from the stadium and shes outside :).

Like i said its the dark blue, is that rare in the VTR model?? Also i have the VTR rims on but in black, ive started to warm to them now werent to sure when i went to pick her up, can i get a plastic rim to go round the alloy at all as the curbing is noticeable. Thanks for your time reading this hope to see you soon. Pics will be up later today, cheers Alastair :)

Welcome, of your buy a premium membership or get 100 posts you'll get access to the for sale sections and there's always members breaking cars so you'll find the bits you need.

You'll pick up your bit boot carpet and a good second hand interior cheap. You might even get them in the freebies section as its hard to even give a standard interior away. As for the 106 leather, there's one for sale at the minute in the for sale. You've got to remember 106 gti interiors will be over 10 years old now so really good ones cheap are a bit harder to find but a worth while mod.

As for your wheels, you don't want to put anything on them, best bet is to get a refurb done or source good second hand ones again always available in the for sale. I've just had my wheels refurbished and powder coated for £140 and they look like new.

Check the fuse in the back of your stereo? Is it the standard stereo? If it is chances are its been put back in for the sale. Your best off getting a new head unit, you can pick one install it yourself for less than a auto electrician would charge for a hours labour.

Okay thank you for your reply. With regards to the radio its a sony one, would the fuse be inline?? Ill have to have a look tomorrow after work it comes out easy enough. Im waiting on a guy to get back to me bout the seats, theyve got rips in the ones i got, i was thinking bout putting seat covers on for the time being. The rears are like brand new, so its just a case of getting replacement fronts. Another thing is there any members close by, i live in Weymouth, and im interested to go to meets and show the car off, so if theres any close by soon ill be interested in attending.

Cheers Alastair

There should be a 10 amp inline mini fuse on the back of the head unit, check that first.

Welcome to Saxperience, i'm sure you'll find all the help you need on here.

The radio sounds like just a fuse as above^ (hopefully).

Boot carpet should be easy enough to find in a scrap yard. If your lucky someone local might be willing to donate one for free - i've thrown dozens out in the past. Alternatively there should be some on ebay.

If you wanted to access the Saxperience market place straight away where we buy and sell you will need to buy premium membership. Well worth the money, you also get some cool saxperience stickers, access to a load of helpful guides, club discounts etc.

Best thing to do with the alloys would get them refurbed, i think a nice rare shade of silver/grey would look good but its personal preference.
