A wee local job, and what a pleasant afternoon it was - a simple protection detail on a Porsche 911 Carrera (997) for me, and an interior detail on a BMW M3 CSL for Clark. Neither car really warranted before pics, so instead here are the afters. The process on the Porsche was…

Wash

Whole car rinsed at moderate pressure using the Karcher
Alloys treated with Meguiars Wheel Brightener, cut 4:1 and left for 60 secs before rinsing off
Whole car foamed with Poorboy’s Slick n Suds (4:1 mix in foam gun) and left to dwell for 5 mins
Whole car rinsed at moderate pressure using the Karcher
All trims and inside the arches treated with P21S Total Auto Wash
Whole car washed with Poorboy’s Slick n Suds using lambswool (bodywork) and microfibre (wheels and inside arches) mitts, and the two bucket method
Whole car rinsed with an open-ended hose
Whole car dried with waffle weave towels

Polish/Protect

All bodywork polished with Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Carnauba using a 7.5”¯ Lake Country white polishing pad, using Jeffs Werkstatt Carnauba Glos to loosen the residue on the first pass when buffing off, and Jeffs Werkstatt Carnauba Jett on subsequent passes until perfect. This method cuts down on the time required to complete the work, makes the work easier and still leaves the same beautiful finish that two separate steps gives. The alloys got a coat of Poorboy’s Wheel Sealant, the tyres got Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel, the windows got Meguiars NXT Glass Cleaner and the exhaust tips got Meguiars NXT All Metal Polysh.

And here’s the pics…

And the process on the CSL was…

Interior

- Damp mf used to get excess dust and grime off dashboard, centre console, door cards etc.

- Vents and crevices dusted using Meguiars detailing brush.

- Pedals brushed with Meguiars upholstery brush and Autosmart G101 APC.

- Stains on alcantara lightly sprayed with Autosmart Bio brisk cut 5:1 and then gently brushed with Meguiars upholstery brush, dried with mf.

- Heavier stains on normal seat fabric sprayed with Bio Brisk then scrubbed with Meguiars upholstery brush and extracted by machine.

- All plastics wiped down with Autosmart G101 APC and mf.

- Windows cleaned using Meguiars glass cleaner.

- All interior Carbon Fibre and door shuts cleaned and protected with Klasse AIO.

- Thoroughly vacuumed as last step.

No, just our own, but obviously we keep 'em mint as an example of what we do and what finishes we can achieve. Bit of a nightmare having to keep them spotless all the time.
