strange noise

when i pull away slowly in 1st gear i can hear a a crunching/grinding noise. any ideas??

can you hear a slight rattle when on tickover?and when you press the clutch it stops,mine all so rattles an crunches,dont no if these problems are related,very annoying,few people on here have said its the release bearing in the clutch/gearbox a mecanic i no confirmed this,he said about £200 to fix,might be wrong,gonna book mine in this week.

Yep that's your thust bearing (release bearing) shouldn't cost that much though ring around and get a few prices.
