not sure if I've put this in the right place but,

I need an ethylene glycol based antifreeze for my car with it being older, where's best to get some today? (I don't have time to order online)

also, any recommendations for a decent screen wash would be handy

Local motor factors. Just give them your regi.

Get screenwash there as well :P

You can use the long life stuff if you want, it'll be fine in a Saxo/106 because TU engines don't have "yellow metals" like brass etc. Not as far as I'm aware, I didn't find any on my engine when I had it in bits.

I asked around before and was told from various sources that either coolant type is fine. Just bought some of the pink stuff from halfords, 20quid on the trade card.

uniparts or any equivalent, halfrauds are expensive as usual.

Best windscreen wash is from asda, £1.50 in shops

The best or the cheapest? eh eh? :P

I use glass cleaner. expensive but my wipers never smear :homme:

I tried a lot of different ones over the years, and from experience the concentrated asda one seems a good deal to me but that's just my 2 pence about it. Or you can go try the halfrauds 5L ready mixed one for 5 quid, see if that makes any difference :P

cheapest would be water with fairy. Don't do it.

Halfords wash is shit, I've used their concentrate and ready mix. it's pure pish.

instead of screenwash?
I use it, but only when I'm cleaning the car. Brilliant idea though.

Yeah, mix it with water :P

Not sure about any long term effects though :fcuk:

Euro car parts for both, sometimes you will get screenwash free if you spend so much. The antifreeze there seems pretty cheap too. Make sure you use the promo codes.

hur hur hur. Nice edit. Carpartsforless if your local autofactors is charging too much and you're not in a rush.

Newspappy with windolene to get the bugs off before a wash, and just the apple flavoured concentrate from halfrauds does me well. Smells lush too.

Fixed that for you :homme: lol, Its normally over £25 isnt it? They have all sorts of deals on. Most of the time they seem the cheapest although they seem to bump prices up to reflect the promo code discount.

If you have a costco near you they also stock decent anti freeze. Prestone concentrated stuff, about 5 litres for £9.

I got screen wash in Lidl once, it was concentrate and it was excellent. best £5 I ever spend. was a whole gallon as well.

even 50:50 mix didn't freeze at -20.

I wish I could remember the manufacturer of it.

I get mine from car spares, £10 for 5 litres.

Most parts supplier places will stock it cheaply.

Or you can pick it up for £25 at halfords.

Stick a pin in both of the nozzles.
Or just get an air line and blow down the tubing. :)

It's only when they do car accessories specials. Their light bulbs and wipers are also excellent value for money, better than the halfrauds shite.
