Just started taking optimum nutrition bcaa capsules http://www.dolphinfitness.co.uk/en/optimum-nutrition-bcaa-1000-400-capsules/18192 and optimum nutrition zma capsules http://www.dolphinfitness.co.uk/en/optimum-nutrition-zma-90/18391 two days ago and the last two nights I've woken up in the night/early morning really needing the loo!
I don't usually get this either as I'm quite careful about consuming fluids too close to bed time for this exact reason! Plus with this heat lately, sweating more etc, I seem to absorb more water than normal and generally need the toilet less
Been taking 2 bcaa capsules about 30-45mins before evening training then another 2 capsules straight after. Then 3 zma capsules straight before bed, so I'm thinking it's probably the zma?
Anyone else had this? What should I do?
Thanks, Chris

Just drop them out mate. Just eat well & Train. Only supplements i take are. Craze (Pre Workout) And Protein x2 Per day. Thats all the body needs tbh.
You using them to kip at nights which the reviews seem to read alot about or little extra kick?

Zma is a much more important supplement than pre workout imo, quality of sleep which zma aids is a key factor to meeting your goals...
Unfortunately i get this to, i waje up at 3am every morning like clockwork n have a piss, also put it down to zma and how much water i drink!
I fall back to a deep sleep pretty quickly so don't mind it! If your feeling as though it is disrupting your sleep considerably then you may well be best without.. i have woke up at around 3am for months now without fail, i find geting up early in the mornings much easier though...
You nightbwell lu id dream on it to i do...
What is the recommended dose of the zma your taking? Maybe half the dose see how it feels and try build up a tolerance to the recommended amount!
I know mcguire supplements zma so he may have had similar expereinces!
A very important supplement to your arsenal though! Imo!

Sorry to go slightly offtopic but does anyone else's zma say don't take with dairy products? Mine do but I drink alotttt of milk and mix my shakes with milk too and I have one before bed. Will this cause me any problems do you think?
Can't comment on needing a wee as I keep forgetting to take them :/ need to put then next to my bed. Plus I'm up before 3am for work anyway lol.

No particular reason really just kinda gathered that after protein and creatine the next most popular supplements seem to be bcaas and zma!
Recommended dose is 3 capsules so tried taking 2 last night and still had the same problem! I seem to be needing the loo more than usual through the day aswell, while not drinking as much water, which is a pain
Been having the crazy dreams aswell which are actually quite fun!
To be honest I've been sleeping quite well anyway lately anyway so could sack them off easy enough. Will give them a miss tonight as see what happens
I have heard people say not to take with dairy products but not sure why... I tend to have some milk before bed at the same time as the zma so would be interesting to know if this is the cause of my problem!

I had a read into it last night and calcium blocks the digestion of some of the ZMA so it's unlikely that will be your problem. I tried mine last night, slept straight through and had a text on my phone from 8 hours ago where I usually look at it every few hours. Didn't wake up needing a wee but I did need one but not till like 6.30 ish.

Yes the body needs Craze (pre workout). Jesus Christ.
Seems awfully complicated all this supplement stuff. Why not just go to bed when the sun goes down and get up when the sun comes up, like our bodies are meant to do?

Quite a true point actually... supplements as a sector make billions every year! By hyping up certain new found breakthroughs which probably make 0.00001% difference if that!
Fish oils and Protein has to be bought for me or it would cost me even more in food shopping than it already does! The only 'supplements' that make an incredible amount of difference are illegal anyway!
I am a fan of zma though does help keep hormones in check as well as helpibg aid recovery!
As you said though i bet the benefits of me getting an hour or so extra sleep would far outweigh zma for aiding sleep.... i like dem dreams though

I didn't get the strange dreams :( unless I forgot them before I woke.

When I was taking ZMA and 5htp, I wasn't getting to sleep any quicker, I didn't feel any more relaxed, but I was having the trippy as fuck dreams. However, I was waking up after about 4 hours feeling like I'd slept for about 10 hours, and couldn't get back to sleep...
There is a video if anyone cares to search for it, of Anderson Silva (the MMA guy) wrestling with some sort of aboriginal tribe. He comments about how strong they are. Now, they're a tribe, he was at the time absolute PEAK middleweight MMA fighter, and he can't believe how strong these people are... I think that says a lot about "supplements". I agree though, the only ones that seem to make a difference are illegal, and probably for a reason...
Fish oils are good btw, I wholly support the taking of that. At least it fucking looks like fish oil!

No I haven't found I get to sleep quicker but I did have a better night than usual. Maybe placebo though?
At least your waking up when you need a piss though. Not dreaming your stood facing a urinal... Might not end great.

Should have been round like. Eat well & Train. That's all the body needs. Apologeeeeeees!
Im bad myself experimenting with different supplements. Sometimes even just to keep healthy like Multi Vit's and so on. Can end up a few £££ though! If they work fine then its worth it and no harm done.
Anyway... Seems like good advice throughout the thread. Try the half dose and see how it is?

Well as I say I tried taking 2 instead of 3 and still had the same problem! Didn't seem to be any better at all! So I ditched them completely and had the same problem again the following night! Must've still been in my system or something. Been fine since though
Don't think it helps that the weather has cooled down a bit lately. While it was dead hot I was so thirsty all the time. Drinking loads of water and never needing the loo! I've carried on drinking a similar amount now though and end up needing to go a lot more!
Might try just one capsule one night soon. Like I say though I've been sleeping quite well lately anyway so probably better just trying to get to bed a bit earlier! Easier said than done though and never ends up happening!

After trying it for a few days I don't have the problem of needing the loo but as I say I'm up before 3 am anyway but when I get to work at 4ish I need the loo straight away even though I went when I got up then I need a piss a few more times a lot more often than normal. I also seem more thirsty in the night though so maybe I was just drinking more water.

Magnesium is probably the cause making you piss, it can act like a laxative.
Just buy the Zinc and B6 separately.
