Right,i need to get an english plate for my veihicle but before doing that i need to insure it with an English company, the problem is no one is willing to insure a foreign car,i tried with no luck several Insurance companies such as Zurich,Sky Insurance and Queen Direct.
I can't go on with the registration process if i don't get an English insurance first, any advice? do you know some other company willing to do that?
Many thanks.

Out of curiosity, why won't they insure it?

First of all thank you very much,it was very helpful.
Unofrtunately the only insurance i could find quoted me 5.600£ per year third part only named to my mother (20+ of driving experience no accidents in the last 5 years) and me as main driver (21 years no accidents etc).
I can't see this ending well.

Something isn't right.
Is the address you've entered a UK one?
being LHD doesn't put your premium up that much.

Re-tried that site, put the insurance to my mother's name,we're both owner of the vehicle but i drive it most of the time,i got quoted 900 annually with "Insure Drive" which seems a fair price,is this fine?

I'll just leave Insure 2 Drive, read some really bad reviews about it,tried a few more but they only make an acceptable quote if i don't include myself in the policy and being the main driver i need to do that.

Your car has to be converted to comply with UK regulations, i.e. front lights inverted for driving on the left side of the road, speedometer in MPH etc.
Otherwise it won't get through the MOT, and as a result you can't tax it. no tax/MOT = no valid insurance. Also, you're only allowed 6 consecutive months in the UK with a foreign plate.
