my handbrake deffinatly needs tightening. its still holding, but its nearly at full extension. Does anybody know how to tighten it themselves, and what tools i would need to do the job.

Cheers

Can't remember off hand but its in the service part of the Haynes manual. Either buy one or just open one and read it at Halfords. That way if you need anything you can buy it there to.

13mm bolt under the car by the handbrake.

get under the car, remove the heatt shield above the cat/center pipe and slide it along the exhaust out the way, you will be able to see the two handbrake cables and the plate they meet on, theres a bolt on this plate to loosen or tighten the cables. Makes more sense when you see it. Can do it with exhaust in place but can be tight
