Hi guys

Just bought a saxo purely for track use. I have so far stripped the interior back to the wiring.

I want to get rid of as much wiring as possible but there is so much.

Any advice would be useful

I just cut mine back and taped up the wires then wrapped them into the body loom or parts of it, except for some of the earths

Cut all the tape off it, it will look horrendous then the bits you dont need cut the wires off as far back and heatseal them up wrap the loom back up and jobs done :)

really depends on how far you going with this , are you gonna remove all sound deadning and sand blast the shell to remove all the sealer and stone chip, fit after market panels as they are lighter, really your gonna loose 2-3kg in the wiring and thats all , with the head ache it can cause its not worth it unless your going the whole hog with the build,
nets comes down to how good and neat do you want it, are you gonna remove the key ignithion and go threw switches and run a stand alone ecu etc, get in touch with beaniesport and moo can work miricals

I lost 6kgs removing standard wiring when going to Omex. And that's on a road car. There's more to be had on a track only car.

one tip. everytime you cut something. try starting the car after to see if it still runs lol

yes you may well loose 5kgs by the time you have stripped all unrequired wiring
plus anothe 3kgs from your weight with the sweat involved .LOl
and i agree with dean --keep checking it runs if you are not sure what wires go where.
just think through what things you want to keep before you start and move the ecu to inside the car
and what other gadgets you may want at some time .
I f it was pure track car you will save more wieght by just making a complete new loom and moving all fuses + main power junctions to inside car --it will be shorter runs to your battery which will no doubt also by inside the car so them ain power leads will be shorter + they weight more than anything

I stripped he loom down on my track AX, was surprised by how much i could take out; what was removed looked like a loom of its own.

I started at the end item... Eg window motor... And worked back to source. Most of the things i removed i was able to take the wiring right back to the fuse box
