To go through the car removing any unnecessary wiring?
Im guessing its a beatch of a job and not something I want to be doing myself?

Its a complete ballache of a job. Not many people would want to take it on.
just done mine. had to reconnect a few that I had cut by mistake.

Lad near us charges £18 per hour that's to strip back the loom replace any broken/ tired connectors and heat shrink whats needed he had 16 hours on my mates sti and the loom was a work of art.

I made the mistake of taking the headlining off and the dash door to be greeted to a million wires all to do with the clifford alarm I think. Absolute nightmare. Thats without the other wires from rear speakers, airbag etc.

Airbag and speakers are easy ones. Just follow them from the ends and cut as you go.

i did an old 106 if mine
i removed the loom totally from the car its the best way

How is your car the old yellow one with tb's? 193bhp?
