How To Fit 17's On To A 1.1

Hi, i currently have 15's on my 1.1
It's been lowered 50mm at front and about 30 at back


How do I fit 17's on without any scrubbing, and how much would this cost to be done.

Well you'd need a wide arch kit and an angle grinder for starters. It really would be alot of work. Do your 15's rub at all?

yes with a full car and only over speed bumps. i have had the small lip grinded off. n i have bin told it's jus the plastric plugs holding the side plastic trim on that are scrubbin now.

apparently 17's make the handling quite bad mate, ppl have sed on here that saxos wiv 17's on them tend to slide and get twitchy with the back end, sounds like a recipe for disaster to me! lol just thort id warn u

ye i have heard that as well. but car looks small and weak (if you know what i mean) either a body kit or bigger wheels :D

i no exactly wot u mean, and saxos the absolute dogs with 17's on, but im prone to losing control of cars on standard wheels so i dont think 17s wud b for me!

The handling on ur car at the moment must be really gud actualy, mayb u cud get some lower profile tyres etc to make them look bigger? make sure they're always shiny and stand out? or just get 17s and b careful! but they wud b bastard to fit bcus of how ur car is lowered.

i got 16's on mine n mine has wide arch kit as well, but when i have a passanger, ne bumps it catches usually, Think maybe 17's wud fit with lower profile tyres but the rear arches have been cut loads.

they look rubbish with 17's on.

The height of the wheel isnt the problem as this can be offset with the profile of the tyre.

It the width thats the killer - 195mm on 15's, 205mm (i believe) on 17's. that 10mm is enough to take the tyre passed the rub strip that rubs over the top of the arch.

The width of the wheels is the problem on flat arches. That's the problem with mine and I've had the lip folded over but they still rub at times.

The only solution is to make the arches wider but it would take a hell of a lot of work..

yer was speakin to a guy at demon tweeks today n he said its the width, anythin over 6.5" wide should not go on 1.1's,mine r 7" granted but they rub like hell.

im lowered 75 rear 50 front on 17s handlings crap and scrubs like mad:wall: but looks the dogs:fcuk: scrubbin on the rear bumper only over bumps and the back of the arch at the front only full lock tho
