I've got my little 1l, and I'm toying with the idea of sticking a black vt kit on her so she looks two-toned. or, do I wait 2 years til I've finished uni and can afford to insure and run and proper vt?
just I've never seen green & black before, only silver and I think it'd look pretty naughty. opinions?

in 2 years time you'll probably want something other than a vt*

Just kit it, for the price of the parts you can get a whole kit for less than 100-150
That's like.. 15 blowys at 10 pound if your cash strapped, hope this helps

you could buy a whole green vtr for a couple of hundred and transplant everything if you felt so inclined. Do it with the proper colour kit though

I think it would look silly with the black.. That's my opinion tho!

It would look good, but your insurance company would count it as a mod & raise your premium.

Just wait and buy a VTR. I had a 1.1 which i put vtr kit on, and sold the car for nothing more and now have a VTR.
Im only 17 and my insurance is £1895 a year on a VTR. So much quicker than a 1.1!

if you're bored then fit the kit! nothing wrong with a bit vt kitting to pass some time lol
you can sometimes pick up whole kits for around £20 if you're very lucky seen some go very cheap only thing is though you will have to lower the car (if not already done) as it will be sky high without the flat rear arch

I wouldn't waste money on a 1 liter, let alone adding weight just for the sake of cosmetics. You'll end up doing 0-60 in 2 weeks, and it will still look like the grand canyon back arches on 3 stud.

I VT kitted my P reg 1.1 when I was 17, still miss the car now! Windy windows and no power steering was the way to go! Just do it, it will look a lot better but I'm sure you'll gain more attention from people trying to race you.

I've not yet lowered my car, I'm having a bit of a dilemma over that.
There's plenty of room between the tyre and the wheel arch, but as the arch comes down to the side of my tyre I don't have that much of a gap. So if I've got a full car or a fatty in the back, they rub when I'm turning.
So, I don't know if when I lower it it'll solve this because the arch seems slightly wider higher up, or wether to just hack a bit of it off!

when the vt rear arch is fitted the gap will increase adn they really do look stupid
however i think on a mk1 faltty you cant go wrong with matt balck bumpers, three stud comp mo5's and some lowerage think they look awesome

I've just had a thought if you fitted a unlowered standard vtr/s beam to a vt kitted flatty then it should lower it to the same height as a vtr?
