Hi folks,

Thought I'd change my pre workout supplement after Jack3d became harder to come by and I reacted quite heavily to the beta alanine itch that came with it. I also used to feel quite jittery, almost nervous when using Jack3d.

After a bit of research I came accross some rave reviews for Musclepharm's Assault Rasperry Lemonade. As with most of these reviews, people spoke of great focus, drive and pump. I have a real problem with hitting a wall and not being able to push through that, and Jack3d never got me there.

I took 3/4 of a scoop 30 mins before my workout (ideal if you have a bit of a drive to get to the gym like me). I didn't feel any of the nervous jitters or itches, just a feeling of excitement and a real urge to get going.

On a cardio session i was able to reach a weight loss level pace within minutes and stay there for a decent 45 minutes. This is pretty unheard of for me, I tend to get bored and move onto something else.

On the weights, I was consitently able to push through the dreaded "wall" and keep going. I was aware that I could probably put far more weight on if I wanted to, however as this is my first month back in training I felt it would be sensible to ease into it.

Anyway, great product based on my experience so far. It tastes bloody good too. Granted, you might not get the same results as me but I'd highly recommend it. Just make sure you drink plenty of water. I can't comment on the focus side of it, in my opinion if you're not focused when training there's not much point being there and a product won't help that.

Tom.

Hmm, odd! I've had jack3d, no xplode, and two lots of muscle pharm before being fruit punch and raspberry and lemonade. All did it for me apart from raspberry and lemonade! Absolutely nothing happened and I was using a full scoop after a week and still nothing!

Lol interesting! People react differently I suppose. A friend of mine was buzzing his tits off on Jack3d while the other was saying he couldn't feel a thing.

What was the other flavour you tried dude?

The only pre workout i have tried MP assault, Found it made me itch after 15 mins of drinking, its not packed with stimulants so you don`t really crash, It gave me alot more focus and determination, more of a pump too, Didn`t want to stop training on this stuff! Noticed a little stretch mark where the chest meets the front delt the first time I used it, Not sure if you can become tolerant to it but doesn`t really have the same effect any more,
Any other mild pre workouts worth giving a go?

Craze all the way guys!

Reasons for that? I know there's lots of hype about it but there's a lot of poor reviews too, hence why I researched the alternatives.

I've used jack3d in the past (proper stuff that's banned now) and craze is all that comes close. A heaped scoop does me great, 2 scoops and I feel a little on edge. Literally I often get 4 hours sleep, wake up at 2:45am for work, work a 10 hour day and get to my car falling asleep, one scoop of craze as I leave and by the time I'm at the gym I'm wide awake and can't wait to get in there. Not much crash at all from it either which I got bad from jack3d.

I do need a week off craze though tbh, will help the effects more when I'm back on it.

You realise that there is absolutely no point in going to the gym if you're only getting 4 hours sleep? If you're tired, then you need rest, not PWO.

Oh and talking of stretch marks (poster above), I've got one that runs from halfway along my bicep up to my shoulder where it forks off. One into my arm pit and the other working it's way up the delts.

Not much I can do about it but tan apparently and use Bio-oil. Never really bothered me enough to do anything about it, they fade eventually.

It's not a regular thing. Happens occasionally as I'm 22 and if I want 8 hours sleep it means going to bed at 6:45pm. Not gonna happen lol. I usually aim for 6 and survive fine on that, sometimes with an hour in the afternoon.

I'm the same age (22)

I'll go to bed at 10, watch tv til about 11 then sleep through til 6.30am.

I really would look into it, or at least avoid the gym that day if you're shattered. Pre workout supps aren't meant for that!

He works fucked up patterns though.

To be honest, most people are in a shitty cycle of going to bed at a set time but really we should rise and fall with the sun. Fucking Edison.

Thanks lightbulbs you life ruiners.

Didn't read about shifts. That would be a pain agreed.
In other news, my fuck off sack of protein and tub of creatine have just arrived. Yaaaaaay.

Yeah I'm up before 3am 5 days a week. Unfortunately not much I can do about it unless I have zero social life whatsoever so has to be a bit of a compromise.

I used to sleep 8 hours a night till I started this job. I'm not sure of the health benefits/downsides but I can easily live with 6 hours a night for 6 nights a week and 8 on a Saturday night. If I'm a bit run down or got a cold or something I'll get more where I can. Took some adjusting to 6 hours but after maybe 2-3 months your body can adjust.

Oh and just to add, I don't take pre workouts because I need them. I could train fine without but I can train better with them.

Was reading somewhere that dehydration and vitamin defficiency will cause them, can`t quite remember which one, could be vitamin E but don`t hold me to that

Correct, alot of women use vitamin E cream whilst pregnant.

Some might fade, others wont and even if they do they are still noticeable. Tanning wont do much, they will either burn and go darker along with the skin or look white against tanned skin lol

Bio oil etc doesn't really do much, these products are mainly to prevent them, not cure them.

They're scars under the skin and the only way to remove them is laser surgery.

I used to hate mine on my biceps and front delts but now I couldn't care, they're war scars from the gym and a sign you're growing !
