Original plan was to break this up because it has got loads and loads and loads and loads, ....... of problems. BUT...

Spoke to the builder of the car who sold it a few years ago (and has deteriorated a lot since then), and he told me it was built as a tribute to his friend who died at the age of 18. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to finish it after the birth of his daughter, so it got sold on twice and finally to me.

Now I build radical american custom cars (see www.lowcamaro.com (http://www.lowcamaro.com)) and rebuilding this wouldn't be a real big problem, so I have decided that there is no way I am going to break this up. So I am going to complete it, and improve it further - to fulfil the dream of a good friend for his late pal,

Now I am going to need loads of help with this from you guys parts finding and research etc, so don't desert me!!

I know it has a VTS engine fitted but thats about all, so this will be a real adventure of discovery. Apart from the obvious body kit/wheels etc, I need to go through this with a fine tooth comb.

I live in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and will be joyed to talk to anyone who can offer words of encouragement/advice etc.

I have the equipment/skills/space available to do this so should be a lot of fun. I will post it up as a project and a website so all can look in and comment/laugh.

Keep in touch.
Andy.

Start a progress thread on here, people will read it and give you suggestions and advice. Is been away from cars for a good few years and with help from here got back into the swing of it. There's a for sale section but you need 100 posts and be a member for 30 days to access it or pay for a premium membership.

Definitely!
Looks radical so am keeping it;)

Just about every car I build goes on airbags, so the rear axle may be replaced by a custom built one with suspension turrets for coil springs, so,..............I can replace them with airbags and sit it on the floor!!

I think this is a marmite car - love it or hate it. Its growing on me - but I'm not going to reveal my age, 'cos I should know better (go on then, .. 52!). Not actually grown up yet.

This is my daily driver

You now what? I teach maths at a local comprehensive school and the kids love the cars I build! Can't wait to see their faces when this arrives in the school car park! Certainly beats the other teachers boring cars!

Nice one:clapping: The car certainly does some spooky things I can tell ya! Love it or hate it its going to be loads of fun rebuilding it. Certainly sounds good even if it leaves an oil trail behind it!

Thanks mickswan. Think I may get to 100 posts pretty quick! Good advice. Looking forward to getting stuck in (inbetween other projects).

It has no door handles?

It has no door handles?

Correct - no door handles.
Interesting story there in fact. There is a tvr type button under the door mirrors that pops open the doors. But the interior handle doesn't work. So you have to open the window and press the button to get out! Surprised me when I got stuck inside!

One of the jobs that never got finished. I am now converting it to remote key fob release and using stainless wire to use the inner handle with to pull the solenoid.

Anyway photos coming soon.
Andy.

Looks good. Keep the kit/wheels. All the regular sheep will say "make it standard on vts rims lowered 50mm" but it's refreshing to see something radical once in a while!

Airride is a lot easier than you think - no turrets etc needed. Have a look on wassy78's thread for example.

Enjoy :)

Thanks Ross,
much appreciated. A bit less work for me then! Sounds good. I will check out that thread now.
