I've got a jp4 engine but need a new starter motor,
And I was wondering would a j4 starter work fine?
Also should I get brand-new or second hand one?
The ones I've seen for sale on the net there's a big difference in price, what's the best to buy? And what is the differences?

Bottom ends are the same. So, I would imagine a J4 starter will fit.
Why can't you get a JP4 starter though? More of them lying about the scrapyards, in C2's etc.

I don't see why not, the engine blocks are the same. except fro a few studs and blanks around the exhaust and inlet.
Maybe do some searching and cross reference some part numbers?

I have a jp4 engine in my 106 using a gti gearbox. Im using the starter that came with the engine from a 206. So the j4 starter will fit and work :)
