painting the black bits

does any one have advice for painting the black bits on my car front and rear bumper poss side parts any good doin a home job or just get a paint shop to do it

shoulnt be too hard for a diy job, what colour is it btw?

EDIT: The best way to do it is to sand the bits with wet and dry paper, id say a medium grade for the inital sanding wipe all the dust off then prime with grey primer, leave it to dry properly. sand with fine paper wipe of the dust again, paint it leave it to dry properly then laquer it. Once thats dry polish it. (any time im painting i leave it overnite between each stage)
