My go that has given me a headache trying to read that.
What are you saying.
When you put your foot down the revs build up normally? However the speed doesn't ?
If that is the case then I'd say clutch is slipping slightly at higher speeds.
On the other hand if that isn't what your saying.
Is there any engine light on the dash?
Could be the map sensor at fault. In plug it and go for another drive and see if it makes any difference.

Doesn't sound like the clutch to me. If it was then the revs would go up quickly but not the speed.

Sounds like spare wheel cage is dragging on floor or could be old type exhaust rubbers starting to go.

99% its the clutch then mate. To double check it. Sit still with the handbrake fully on. Put the car in 4th gear and try to pull away. if the clutch comes right up and the car doesn't move then the clutch is gone. If the car pulls away or stalls then its ok.

If the revs shoot up while no change in speed = the clutch is shot. No need to test in 4th with the clutch and handbrake on. It's new clutch plate time.
