hi all im having a problem, ive dropped a old black top vtr engine into my 106 witch was a- 1.1 xn single point injection engine before. The car now turns over but there is no spark ive checked the coil pack, crank sensor and changed the fuel relay these are all fine. Is there anything else i need to check or do, thanks ryan :y:

someone said its an immobiliser fault, if so i brought a engine loom not long back and it came with the key, transponder and ecu but he didn't send me the black immobiliser box. am i right in thinking i would need this box to use the key and ecu he sent me?

Is the old immobiliser still connected? If it is there's a good chance you've licked the ECU.

it is at the moment but if i disconnect it before i put the new key, transponder and ecu on would this work?

Should do in theory, depends how the bloke before you disconnected it. You need to have the engine running before you disconnect the immobiliser. If he did this you should hove no dramas.

fit all the vtr stuff if you have it.
if you tried to fire it up with the 1.1 stuff still fitted and you haven't got the VTR transponder chip and the unit itself you will need to get the ecu unlocked

don't forget the transponder unit is the black box, not the aerial around the ignition barrel which is a generic part not coded at all.
