Had my car standing for a few days while waiting for a fuel pump to turn up fitted the fuel pump and it now runs so that's fixed but then I went to turn on the blowers and they won't work now! Worked fine before don't see how it could of packed in when I haven't used it, checked the fuse inside the car for it and it's fine, could it be anything else?

Do you need to remove the whole centre console to get the switch out?

Is there any way I could test the motor without removing it like bypass the switch somehow? That's what I was thinking of trying as the blower motor is a bit of a bastard to get out if it's not that

Erm without taking the motor out not really, unless you could remove the steering column shrouds & connect 2 leads to the motor, then to a battery.Which by the time you did that you may as well remove the motor.

Hmm I'll probably end up getting it out haha, so if the motor works off the battery would it definately be the switch or is there anything else it could be?

A broken wire, the resistor pack(on the motor)highly unlikely would be that the plug has come off the motor but you never know.:drink:

Could any1 tell me where the resistor is as I can't seem to find one on the motor, car is a mk2 vtr 02 plate, seems like there are 2 types of blower motor?

Only 1 type of blower motor afain mate, let me find a pic.Silver metal thing on top of the casing.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-106-CITROEN-SAXO-BLOWER-MOTOR-FAN-UNIT-6441-K8-GENUINE-NEW-/131032759622?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e82293d46
Seems you`re right though about different types of blower.

It's sorted now, went in the car earlier tried the blowers and they worked, only thing I can think is something got damp/wet when it was left standing when the fuel pump wasn't working. Just glad it's sorted didn't fancy having no heaters in winter!
