I've been told there's exsessive play in the rear brake carrier... Does this i mean to replace my drum brake? Or could the exsessive play just be my fucked axle? If I get my axle from IMaxles there don't come with brakes so don't want to order brakes if not needed !!

It's because my handbrake cable needs adjusting? I do have to pull it rite up as far as it goes and the car will still roll if its on a hill

Normally if that's the case it's refered to 'handbrake has no reserve travel' on an mot failure.
I'd whip the drums off.
Adjust the handbrake there either way as you have no handbrake with it like that.

Whip the drums off and replace with new ones?

Not the actual drums that need replacing, its your handbrake that needs adjusting. If that doesn`t work then it maybe time for new handbrake cables.
