I'm abit of a newbie when it comes to this stuff :homme: but.....
I'm Trying to solve a rattling problem coming from the rear of my saxo.
Came a across this, which is loose/ fixing clip broke. Sounds like it could create some noise.
It sits on a 'ledge' on the fuel tank, underneith the rear axel, to the right.
What isit? What does it do? Thanks :y:

It has a little metal ball in it.
Also i doubt it would make much noise for you to notice over your exhaust, music etc.

I think it's something to do with cutting the fuel supply off if you flipped the car on its roof ( I may be wrong but I'm sure I heard that somewhere )

This. It's a ball inside which allows air into the tank by default in the correct orientation so you don't vacuum lock the fuel pump. If that valve/ball wasn't there if the car ever rolled petrol would piss out the breather.

I know it's not broken, it was just loose and dangling freely.(which I thought would be the reason to the noise) It Looked like the mounting clip had snapped.
Anyway thanks for the input guys :y:
I fixed this, but still have the rattle coming from the rear (I think)
Only seems to rattle on slight acceleration....
Really need to jack this up and have a proper look... Weather permitting ;)
