ok, as im a noob at this, starting with little bits and qork up...

Just need some advice, ive checked out simo's tutorial on it, it explains well just need verifying.
As im not buying alreqady primerd bits im using my current trim parts already in my car.
I'm starting with the side vents..with this it said in simo's tut that you will need either hot soapy water or light abraisive paper. Well im going for hot soapy water which will get the polish off right...
is this correct? i dnt wanna be forking out extra dosh on more and more spray. like it says on the halfords can get this before applying primer to it.

so is hot soapy water good to get polish off how shud i do it how long shud i leave it the water for... should i scrub it down properly with a brush?

any info much appreciated!

I just used a scrubber thing (you know those yellow pads with the green rough side?) and hot soapy water. You want to remove any dirt and give the paint something to stick to. Then after it had dried off, I used paint thinner to clean any residue away, let that dry then you can start with the primer, paint and lacquer.
