am trying to get insurance on ma saxo.....am 17 and have just starte driving....its a 1.1 with pug alloys...tint...induction kit and am strugling to get insurance for it without paing stupid money...i need to be classed as a second driver cause my mum will be using the car for her work for a bit.
how much do you people get charged roughly and who was that buy

think i was on £800 on my 1.0 with Norwich Union, my dad was named aswell, think i was named as 3rd driver not sure though

I payed around 600 for my furio.
That was in my dads name fully comp protecting his ncb.
18 just passed and car was an X reg 1.4i

When i first bought my car i had it insured under my name only as car was also in my name:
paid £1400 tpff for first year
its a 1.0i

£700 now fully comp with all mods declared. this is my 2nd year, amazing how much insurance drops after the crippling first year

Mines insured in my own name for £1400 a year and its a 1.1
Try Quinn-direct as im sure everyone will say!
Try not to go onto your mums if you can help it, becuase if insurance is set to rise you could do with the ncb's!

im 17 on a sx no mods fully comp on my own - £2000. SHOCKING!!
BUT my postcode is the second wort one you can get lol according to the insruace companies!!

also curious into what insurance your doing! cheapest i could find on a VTR was £1400 fully comp on my mums with me and my dad as named drivers with a years driver exp with Elephant

I did a quote for a standard VTR aswell and it came back at £1400 so hes telling the truth.
Shame i didnt know that before i took out insurance on my 1.1 :(

mine was £2380 when i was 17 on a standard 1.1 mate. now i pay 1650 with 1yr ncb and all mods declared. (alloys, lowered, back box, lights, spoiler)

i thought about going on my dads when i was 17, im glad i didnt now though, ive got 4 years no claims (1 from scooter) and now im insured on a VTS all mods declared for 880 quid! (i turned 20 4 days ago)

1.4i Westcoast - £1250 Fully comp as named driver and my dad as frist driver & registered keeper.
Alloys declared too.

My friends also say this! I didnt think about it one bit when i got my VTR!
I'm 17 on a provisional licence with quinn fully comp £2000. no mods added yet!
I thought that was good!

17yr old 1.4 furio lots of mods only pay £108 full comp with farmers union (means i have more cash for mods)

yeh alot is to do with where you live though aswell, remember that thread that was up a while back, mine was E i thinkm was only F and Refer above that :( shitter is.....i could leave my car unlocked and no-one would check it out or anything. been times where i have left HU in too :(

I payed £1250 third party fire & theft at 17 on my 1.1.
That was with chirchill in my own name, but i had my mum on it as a named driver.

Yeah to be honest i could do the same here, i leave my CD player in every night... its a nice neighbourhood i think i was band B.
