I got a decent x reg 1.1 saxo forte for £250 not long back. The previous owner had bought a few bits for it including a vtr bodykit and some alloys (wrong pcd) and threw them all in for me. His plan was get it looking good until he lost his job and decided to sell it.
I have now done a few bits to it myself and got it looking half decent compared to what it was like.
But my main problem now comes to lowering it...
The previous owner at some stage attempted to lower the rear using a bolt, washer and socket piece to withdraw the torsion bar. By the looks of things the bolt he used has snapped off inside.
Has this happened to anyone else? Also any ideas on how to remove it?
Also what would you all recommend as to how low i should go? Iv got it sitting on 17s at the mo so im thinking 30mm. What would look best?
Cheers in advancehttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/09/myzy8a4a.jpg

you'll probably struggle to lower on 17's without scrubbing everywhere!! mines lowered 60mm front/80 ish back on 15's (pic below) and sits nice imo. but with them wheels yeah probably 30mm tops!

Yours does look perfect.
I did have to do a bit of wheel arch modding to get these 17s on. On top of that there on 30mm spacers. Iv got plenty of room under both arches atm but my concern would be when the front wheels are turned.
I just want it so the top of the tyre sits a bit closer to the wheel arch. Plus i have an arch rolling tool just in case lol

Does yours not rub on full lock or anything? Whats it like over speed bumps?

Lovely looking car mate looks a good en, yeah if you reduced the alloys to 15" then you could lower it but if you lower it on them then you will have to go over speed bumps side ways at about 1mph and it will still scrape, I made that mistake and I only had 16"s

I would look into getin hold of a torsion bar that's already been lowered and change rear beam witch isn't that hard and if urs is a 1.1 u could gain disk breaks at the same time ... Also I'd say sell the big rims and get some 15" maybe cyclones or vts wheels and you could lower it as much as you want my vts is pritty slammed and doesn't run on vts wheels

I have a full gti rear beam. No play at all... Yes it is at standard height but is all free and could be useful if you wanted?

Comes with new rear disks and some free good condition calipers.

25 quid if collected. Just want rid :)

Douggie.
