Alright fellas, just fixed one leak on the Mrs's saxo, it was a blocked drain hole under the wiper motor.

Now another one has started, it seems as if the water is leaking in at the bottom forward corner of the pass door.

The seal is in good condition but the water seems to pool in the seal and then run into the car, when i opened the door it looked as if the water was coming from the bottom of the door card. So i removed the door card and it was wet behind, now my question is should there be some sort of plastic cover/membrane that covers the inside of the door type to prevent this and to make sure the water goes out the drain holes at the bottom of the door?
As there is nothing fitted.

Cheers Dave

Theres a drain hole on the passenger side too.

Drain hole on the passanger side where please?

The water is coming in from behind the door card, if you open the door after it has been raining the water drips out from behind the door card.
So i am thinking there should be a plastic liner on the door behind the door card.

Open the bonnet & where the windscreen ends is a tray(called the scuttle)& theres a drain hole there.

Yeah already checked that nice and clear, it is coming in the door, going to have to take the door card off and then get the hose on it and see if i can see where it is getting in.

Sounds like the sunroof drains are blocked then.

Sunroof drains won't leak there they'll back up into the sunroof tray usually, that said unless the sunroof pipe has a hole on the passenger side. Mine leaks inside the door, used to drop inside the car so I had to fit covers on the speaker holes. That said I do only have fibre door cards and a stripped out car. I'd try a new seal and see if water is pooling in the door

I had exactly the same problem and spent a small fortune trying to sort it - replaced weatherstrips, the window seal etc. However, I managed to trace the water back to the speaker - it was leaking from behind there. After sealing the speaker to the door with silicone, I still get a few drips, but it's not enough to flood the car.

Brilliant cheers for the replies fellas, yeah the sunroof drains seem fine, the water seems to be getting in naer the speaker, so will have a look at that, it has had a new door seal and still no different. But to me it just seems starnge that there is no form of plastic liner under the door card. Every other car i have owned or worked on always seems to have a liner/membrane under the door card

Get someone to sit inside the car, whilst someone runs a hosepipe over it.

Someones probably pulled it off in the past sorting out another issue. When it rained I could physically see water dripping into mine via the speaker hole, which I've now covered in rubber. The doors must have drains too though I've never looked

Yeah thats what i was thinking, so there should be one there.

Going top remove the door card and speaker and then sit inside and see if i can see where it is coming in. I hate trying to find leaks, i have never know a car leak as much as her saxo well apart from the old 1978 mini i used to have.

Cheers for the replies fellas, managed to sort this, it was leaking from the speaker hole, the water water getting past the speaker dripping down between the door card and the door, pooling in the seal and then running into the car.

I removed the speaker and the rubbish foam water proof thing that was behind it, put a nice bead of silicone sealer on the speaker and screwed it back to the door, been like that for 2 weeks now, and not one drip inside the car!!
