how to fit this stereo (pioneer AVX-P7000CD)????

hi can anyone help me with how to fit this stereo??? i took it to an auto electrician and he said it needs another head unit or something to power it :wacko: not a clue!!! really need to get this in mi car asap its a pioneer AVX-P7000CD, cheers

never wired one up, but you shouldn't need another head unit, but not 100% sure if they have a second brain unit? that might be what they are on about and if you havn't got that and its the one that uses second brain it wont work

it does not have a built in amp it is just a screen with a cd player. that is an old unit how much you give for it??

If I remember right that screen does need a brain unit. Pioneer brought out 3 diffrent ones. Something like 7000,8000 and 9000. The 7000 was basic the 8000 had flashy grafics and the 9000 was a 5.1 processor.

That unit you have is about 5 years old now so iy may prove tricky to get hold of the unit you need. Best thing to do is go on Pioneers website and download the manual for your unit if you aint already got one. Then work out what you need from there.
