right ok basicly my uncle has a huge air compressor and i am going to purchase some proper spray guns to go on it but what i need to know is on the paint side of things, i can purchase car paint off ebay for it and i know you have to filter it into the gun but then dont you have to mix it with thinners and activators to make the paint thin enough for it to go through the spray gun? what are paint activators? what are the mixing ratio's?

a data sheet should come with the paint that will explain some of this, mixing ratios etc

the mixture of paint varies between makes, most are 50/50 ratio, then you have your primers same again some are 50/50 others are 5to1 hardner with a drop of thinners, but this varies on climate, then theres your laqcuer 4to1 with touch of thinners

then theres the makes of paint cellulose paint and 2 pac and they don't go well together at all, lots of reactions

what size comp are you getting

flip paint is 2 to 1 and same with most other paint. 2pac is very watery and has alot of stuff you dont really want to breath in. 2pac paint can kill you or infect your lungs more then any other paint. cellulose paint is alot thicker then 2pac and any flip paint and is alot easier to use if its your first time spraying. if you want any more info p/m i have sprayed a few car.

right i went over to my uncles this mornign and he is retired and has done bike/car restoration for many years, he has a huge compressor and various spray guns that he has used to spray minis when he used to restore them, the compressor is big, its about the size of a big bath looks like if you cut the top off 3 people could get in it easy, he said its more than up for the job, also there is a place around the corner from him that sell car paint they can also make it ready mixed for you in a kit so not cross using paint brands which would be good. thanks for the replys people and when i finish smoothign the vt kit i will show you it being painted
