Possibly you have a faulty sensor on the fan itself mate.:y:

worked before i had issues with the car, so cant see a reason why it doesn't now, but will change it anyway.

Give me a clue, where's the sensor on the fan? all i can see is a relay which has been changed.

it's the green one on a 16v or blue on a vtr. not sure what you have

there isnt any on the fan afaik lol

all you have is 2. one for temp and dials ad they're near the thermostat as you most probs know

Fan sensor(switch) is in the radiator, could also be the relay.

on my old rad, it didnt have a switch, but it has on the smaller rad which im using but i have no wiring to plug onto the switch.

Can the fan being on all the time do any harm to anything while driving?

Sorry for the confusion as i`ve got a mk1 saxo I have a switch on the rad(thermal)as you`ve a mk2 you don`t have this feature.:drink:

IIRC being a 3 plug car there's a sensor on the thermostat housing which IIRC is brown, as per other PSA a-c cars, if this is not plugged in or is faulty the fan will run constant as a failsafe, look for the bitron control unit which if you unplug this the fan will stop so you wont flatten your battery.

the other sender on the thermostat housing (or head) is the ecu and temp gauge on three plug.

one plug cars used a 3 pin blue thermoswitch in the rad, green temp sender for the ecu, and blue one in the head/stat housing for the dash.

temp sensor, have the car plugged in and find out. Might want to fix that asap or the car will run like 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag.

iv changed the blue one already.

if you changed the blue one, then that narrows it down to the other one. Now like I said, better to have the car plugged in whenever you have a faulty part somewhere.

Oh yeah, ignore me, having a blonde moment, blame it on my age lol.

Will plug diagnostics machine in, see what it throws up. Cheers for the help

brand new green and blue sensors, brand new thermostat. it still fckin overheats, it won't bleed (no water, just steam comes out of 2 bleed points) only top hose gets hot, and yet the damn fan is still on constantly (unplugged it now as it was flattening the battery)

WTF IS GOING ON????

getting stripped at weekend if it doesn't get sorted, had enough, im now broke cos of the fckin skip.

Someone from east mids come and sort it for me please

how are you bleeding this? header tank method?
Frankly if the fan is being that much of an arse, i'd just wire it into an aftermarket switch via or adjustable temperature sensor/probe

danny-vts

open all 3 bleed points, open header tank let car run, its how iv always done it, but this one decides to be a cnut

That's not the best method. Search header tank method for bleeding on this site it'll tell you how better than I can type it, and it works well. Don't forget the fill point has to be higher that the highest bleed point on the system other wise it'll get air locked and on a saxo that's why you need a "header tank" due to the filler location

Loool. Just park the car facing a stiff uphill, bleed from the radiator.

Check for leaks in the next couple of weeks just in case.
