Hi had my arch liners off the other day and was suprised to find 2 nice holes in each front wheel arch. Its gonna need welding so got it booked in to an engineering place. They qouted me 30 quid to do it all, that seem ok?. The rest of the car is spotless not one bit of surface rust anywhere. Its made me wonder what the older saxos are gonna be like. So advice to anyone that owns a saxo get your front arches treated and undersealed soon as you can or youl regret not doing it. Anyone else got this problem?.

I think the newer ones rot worse than the older ones!

It doesnt help that people dont actually clean them. I dont have any at all and mine's a 53 plate.

Yea would help if people took more care. I think if it had been cleaned and sealed a year ago it would be fine. Ive only had this one a few month just wish i did it earlier. Thing is you can only see it with fuse box ecu out and arch liners off. Ya cant really do that when lookin at a car to buy it.

It does make me wonder if the arch liners are really doing their job,& whether to remove them & underseal the arches?

Id definetly give any exposed metal a good wire brushing. I used a drill one on the cordless came up shiny then undersealed. keep liners on tho or ya get loads of shite near ya hinges. Citreon obviously thought it wasnt that important to protect the front arches or the rest of the car really. Anyone know if 106s are any better for not rotting?.

106`s do get rot in the same places as saxo`s.

106 and saxo chassis are the same.

later cars should be better than older cars as they had some, though not many improvements made.
