You'll probably get away with it.

Iirc traffic wardens and police officers can give fixed fines for not displaying it though.

They will have record that you have new tax for your car, so in theory you should be ok.

Chances of getting pulled are pretty slim and if you do, they can check to see if you have bought it.

Yes you can get away with not taxing the car for 2 weeks
Dont park in busy streets etc over weekend (although do wardens work weekends?) because you can still get fine for not displaying
Yes they can check that your car is taxed on a database.

Just stick your old tax disk in the windowor something ur covered on all fronts then

edit : Good girl bringing it to you :)

and even if she didn't. the cops have computer basis with all this on and once cross referenced with the dvla they willknow you have a tax disk, it's just not displayed.

I got a £60 fixed penalty for not displaying my tax disc, it was a really wet day and i had my heaters on full to clear the windscreen, think that caused my alloy holder to fall off and I never noticed it. Came out from work and had a nice fine flapping from my windscreen wiper. Lazy bastard didnt even bother looking on the floor, because thats where it was and it had fell the right way round.

Luckily I appealed it and it got overturned :D:

It says on the tax disc somewhere "failure to display £250" or something like that

i wouldnt worry. you would be very unlucky to get done for it.
