Hi, I've got a VTR and thinking of converting it, I'm 20years old, 3 years ncb 6pts on license (oops) and currently pay 1100 fully comp all mods declared, lowering bucket seats steering wheel exhaust wheels etc, now what's the rough increase to insuring the vts engine? Some people say it's cheaper than insuring a vts alone, for a vts (standard) it's 1250 or something so only an extra 150 more but I've had my car a year now and done so much to it and it's very clean for it's age so would rather convert than buy one I don't know anything about and starting over again..

so yeah rough cost rise with declaring engine?? With elephant btw

Just going to have to ring them & ask, I paid £1600 for a 1.4 Furio with 2ncb and 20 with elephant.

Strange as you live in same area as me.

When I renewed my Vts they wanted £1500 that 21 on 3ncb. (No points clean lisence)
Tesco quoted me £880 so went with them.

if you cancel your insurance, will you lose your NCB?
might be worth just waiting until you get your NCB when your renewal is due then look elsewhere

If you've only jut started your policy is cancel now? Not really lost much then if you go for conversion, admiral wouldn't touch me with engine conversion, but with 0ncb 2 yrs driving, lows, interior mods and exhaust/mani it's £1066, with a 106 gti it'll cost me around £200 more, but I pay loads more because I pay monthly.

Also getting a vts in 2 weeks and I've not tried an insurance quote yet -_-

You have to give him your details first, that's how they work out a price.
