I passed my test in April 2013 and since then I've been on a multi car insurance with 5 other members in my family. I'm also 19. Because I've never had my own insurance, if, in 2 years when I'm 21, the cost of insurance will go down but will it go down the same as if I'd of been on my own insurance since I passed my test?

It should go down a bit as you'd have your license for a year longer, but doubt you will have any no claims bonus.
Only way to find out is to get quotes, as its totally random. No one can give you a solid answer until you try. So you might aswell save some time and ring up some companies or try comparison websites.

I was in the same boat, 20 with 0 years no claims. On a vtr.

Paid 2.k when i was 18 and 2.2k when 19 as a named driver with co-op.

Looked on compare websites were you can put your named driver experience as I guess that lowered it slightly.

Now I pay £780 with admiral as the main driver. with my mods declared (full exhaust system)

No, I've held my license for less than 1 year and I've got no ncb

It will be less than it is now but on the price you can expect to pay, it won't be a lot.

Do a quote today saying you are 21 and then change the age to 19, the price difference will not be much. Remember to say you have had your licence 2 years longer as this is true and will affect the price a little.

Until you hit 25+ where insurance goes down a decent amount, NCB will be the biggest thing that brings the price down.

Im 26 with 6 years NCB and mine is £350ish a year on the Golf but if I had zero then it would probably be double.

I have one year ncb and I'm paying 700 fully comp now, but when I passed last year I payed 5,600 and that was in one lump sum they wanted 7200 to pay monthly so it shouldn't be as bad as that as your 19 and I passed my test 2 months after my 17th so when your 21 it should be reasonable considering you don't have any ncb but bite the bully and they will even them selves out to an affordable payment over a few years :)
