This was going to be an Edition38 and TRAX write up, but it lashed with rain all day on Saturday at Edition38, so I didn't bother getting the camera out. Some belting motors though, and the Jon44 guys (Andy Ollie, Lisa, Roger, Gravy Chip, et al) put on a good show as usual, plus handing out a dose of best irish abuse, so cheers folks! Have to say that Dino's car from Detailing World was mint, and a credit to the lad - nice work fella.

After a quiet night out on the Magners, Clark and I headed to TRAX with the Seat Car Club on Sunday morning at the crack of dawn. As we did so, the clouds parted, and the sun came out, albeit with a fair bit of wind, although we couldn't help this due to the combination of pudding and Magners the night before. First things first, we wet washed and quick detailed WX51 TXR inside and out, and then set up the flags...

Then, after a wee bit of socialising on the stand, Clark, Iain and myself shortlisted the show n shine for the club. Then Clark and I nipped off for a quick look around the paddock, and snapped away at some nice work...

We then swung by the Sax-P stand for an hour or so to judge their show n shine (forgot to take my camera, really sorry Sax-P folk  ), and then a quick bite to eat and onto the SIDC stand. The SIDC stand had by far the largest number of well detailed cars on show on the day. Our pick of the bunch, and of the whole show for that matter, was Pete Sargent's 1997 Type R with 66k on the clock...

We then had another look around, watched a bit of 0-60mph and drifting action, before heading back to the Seat stand for the show n shine results. The best car on the day went to Robbie Donald, whose Cupra was presented perfectly as usual. Well done mate! Here's a few shots which show why Rob was a deserving winner...

And yes, in this one the two Leon's are the same colour, with Rob's to the rear... just goes to show what good prep and lsp's can do.

Finally, we went for a final look around the paddock (no boobs by this stage, getting very desperate indeed) and were rewarded sort of (but we still missed the damn wet T-Shirt contest - grrr)...

The drive home was set to be a long one that would last well into the early hours, but we couldn't resist a bit of banter to end the day on a high note... anyone know this girl? She was a good laugh!

Wheels were dirty my arse! They were wet washed inside and out along with the rest of the car, then quick detailed and the tyre dressing applied. Cheeky whippersnapper! :P

Thanks for your advice and input at the weekend Rich, it was good to meet each other. :A:

There were certainly a lot of nicely detailed cars knocking about and your Seat was immaculate.

I'm sure quite a few more sax-p members will develop the detailing bug before next years antics kick off :P

Get some Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on them sometime soon, and top up every 2-3 months. This will make keeping them mint a lot easier, and on a car with a look as fresh as yours, mint wheels will really make the difference and make people look twice.

Cheers Simo, it was a great (but hectic) day! Good to see everyone, some very nice cars on the stand. I need some sleep now... that's only 9 hours in four days and I'm suffering!

lsp's refers to last step products - i.e. products that simply protect the finish, so all waxes and sealants. I got my plates from Dubmeister at Edition38 on the Sat. Try a google on dubmeister or dubweiser, they do them online too. :)
