n.b all tyres , fluids and mechanical parts are still as new . I will be changing oils anyway and filters .

Yeah right I wouldn't touch with a barge pole the barge pole I wouldn't use to touch this car.

fluids go bad, oil goes bad. Petrol gets very corrosive and starts to sme like fish. All rubber pipes will be bad from the glycol in the antifreeze and its more than ikely to have some corrosion in the cylinders from moisture in the air.

It cost me just short of £500 to store my ek9 with the storage service and fluids.

The car will have more problems from being stored than if it was run daily.

so it's sat on unrotated tyres for basically 15+ years. Well they'll be fucked at least.

That's some low miles, was hoping it was going to be a VTR / VTS

Not the most appealing model, and will want a good check over but I'm sure itl will make an old lady happy none the less

That's fair enough but the ad says she bought it new and then left it. You wouldn't have the car serviced more than once in 1,400 miles if that's all you'd done lol

WTF?

Sold on eBay for £1,600, which I thought was cheap.

Scene dub folk disagreed.

Seems a dealer snapped it up to make a few quid.

shows your experience with buying used cars lol. I'd bet the following:

cambelt/water pump needs replacing
tyres are square
battery needs changing
fuel pump likely to be perished
ever rubber pipe in there is perished, plastic ones likely to be brittle
fluids are rotten and have contaminated every pipe and container
oil has turned into sludge
tank needs flushing
needs new spark plugs
needs new filters

This is what happens to a car when it is stored and not serviced before being put back on the road, pay attention to the bit about the car running like a bag of spanners after the petrol has gone off:

To be fair, it does look genuine to me. The steering wheels looks untouched, seats aren't sagging etc. so would be safe to say the mileage is correct IMO. We once had a 3 year old Nissan Note come in at work that had done something like 28 miles on the clock. It was absolutely immaculate inside - the dials, dashboard, seats and steering wheel looked like brand new.

In 16 years its been serviced once...

so it's sat on unrotated tyres for basically 15+ years. Well they'll be fucked at least.

For these reasons I'd stay away from it. My 106 does very little mileage now I have a company (maybe 2.5-3k per annum at a push) but she always gets a full service every year. It's just simple mechanical sympathy - why the hell should it look after you if you don't look after it?

Yeah I just needed the car gone tbh mate, easiest £1100 I will make with sitting on it for 2 weeks. I can't see him getting anywhere near that but good luck to him.
