as every one knows saxos aren't great at braking, spoken to a bloke on a traing course i was on and he has a 1.1, said he has changed the pads to mintex xtreme and can out brake an astra 2.0 with calibra turbo brakes (shown me video) he said there much better now.
what other pads would you recommend and have you got them, did they make a big difference?

his car is slower so obviously he can outbrake him, but he's fucking looney tunes if he thinks fitting mintex pads on a 1.1 will give him outright braking power of calibra turbo brakes (not sure of the size of these but they're a lot bigger than bloody 1.1 saxo brakes). ignore this twat and fit standard pads, you dont need anything more unless you have a bigger engine under your bonnet.

i got 1.6 vtr but you really have to stand on the brakes to make it stop.

depends what you use your car for. eg obviously 6 pots and 310mm discs are better than standard brakes but for an everyday road car they'd be overkill. figure out how/where you drive your car then you can start to look into the brakes you need, but for everyday driving the standards are fine.
