Ok so I buy myself a wee toy to play with (vtr 8v) and I take it to a garage for a once over and I need, front nearside wheel bearing, disks and pads all round and both top strut braces.

Iv managed to get a price for the braces but there's 2 options to choose from.
Option one is just the braces
Option two has a steel rod or something that pokes through the top?????????????

Iv no idea what that is to be honest.

I'm no mechanic the best I can do is brakes and bottom arms so this is all new to me!

HELP!!!

A strut brace is a bar that connects the 2 suspension top mounts together to stiffen the car up.
I think what you are meaning is the top mount bush and bearings! Like this:

Get these http://bit.ly/1lgywCm I've got them and there fine. You can get your wheel bearing from carparts4less saveme75 will save you 7.5% not much but you know.
