code problem

i got a obd2 reader today so plugged it in an the code P0118 came up in ther user manual it says this means" engine coolant temp circuit high input"
anyone no how i can fix this

At a guess the sensor is faulty so giving the wrong reading,i'd buy a new one mate clear the code and see how things go.

ok will do car had red light on temp gauge but temp never goes above half an fan always on also get the 2k rev problem sometimes so think its that
