Hi guys this is a question to any one that thinks they can help me by giving me some good advice, and hopefully so hope. lol
basically my have just bought a citron saxo 1.1 and after about of month having it i started hearing a nocking nice from the front left side. not knowing "much" about cars i asked around few friends and family and read a few posts. i then became positive that it was the cv joint that needed replacing.
i then took the car to a garage where they charge me £129.95 to replace both the cv joint and drive shaft, they also aligned my tiers. when all was done i took it for a drive and discovered that the tracking had gotten considerably worse and the nocking noise was still their when going round a left corner. they then tried to re-aline the car and look at nocking nice. they said the tracking was due to my tires as they were "Like Eggs". i asked about the nocking noise and he gave me a round about answer of "we have changed the cv joint ND drive shaft as far as we are aware its fixed.
i then stated this wasn't good enough and asked him to come for a drive with me to listen. after the noise he said it was my engine mount and stated his job is done the knocking when turning a left corner has not gone its now when accelerating on a straight.
reading posts i am starting to think it is the "strut mounts" or wheel barings as I'm a student and done have much money any advice would be appreciated as to what the nocking noise could be.?
