Hi guys this is a question to any one that thinks they can help me by giving me some good advice, and hopefully so hope. lol

basically my have just bought a citron saxo 1.1 and after about of month having it i started hearing a nocking nice from the front left side. not knowing "much" about cars i asked around few friends and family and read a few posts. i then became positive that it was the cv joint that needed replacing.

i then took the car to a garage where they charge me £129.95 to replace both the cv joint and drive shaft, they also aligned my tiers. when all was done i took it for a drive and discovered that the tracking had gotten considerably worse and the nocking noise was still their when going round a left corner. they then tried to re-aline the car and look at nocking nice. they said the tracking was due to my tires as they were "Like Eggs". i asked about the nocking noise and he gave me a round about answer of "we have changed the cv joint ND drive shaft as far as we are aware its fixed.

i then stated this wasn't good enough and asked him to come for a drive with me to listen. after the noise he said it was my engine mount and stated his job is done the knocking when turning a left corner has not gone its now when accelerating on a straight.

reading posts i am starting to think it is the "strut mounts" or wheel barings as I'm a student and done have much money any advice would be appreciated as to what the nocking noise could be.?

Advice/ Quotes would help loads

Thank you New Member : Ash :D

Wheel bearings make a sort of humming noise and the humming noise tends to get louder when you turn a corner and lean on the wheel with the knackered bearings or quieter when you lean on the other wheel, they don't make a knocking noise.
Also the top mount bearings and bushes only make a knocking noise when you go over a bump, this is the same with any bush and the anti roll bar drop links.
Only one driveshaft and CV joint has been replaced so ask them to replace the other? See if that does anything :)
