Mrs has her heart set on a new corsa, going to look and test drive one tomorrow. Anyone drove one have one and give me an opinion as you can only learn so much from the text drive.

I don't think they're bad cars. Not the best driving experience but guess your mrs isn't fussed about feel through the steering or a positive feeling gearbox :P but they're nice and easy to drive, good ride, good mpg etc if you're on splitter scuffers though, don't tell them unless you want your arse to be turned into a gaping bucket!!

1.2 16v probably, I've driven the corsa c 1.0 3 pot and hated it

Corsa D and C are very different to drive I found, and also the 1.2 16v corsaD is a nippy little car, unlike the 1.0 corsa C with 55bhp or whatever it is

We had the 90 bhp 1.3 cdti. Think it was an 08 model. Fairly nice looking interior although I found the seats pretty uncomfortable. Hated the power delivery and the fuel economy wasnt as good as it could have been. It stuck to the road well although as said not really a good feel through the wheel

worst engine ever invented...theres not enough turbos in the world to meet the demand for 1.3cdti turbo cosumption

Haha I agree. Never had any reliability issues but it was a basically brand new car on like 20,000 miles. Just the power delivery was bloody horrendous. Then youve got the likes of the 1.2 and 1.0 even the 1.4 and theyre all underpowered and again not that good on fuel. Our 1.3 diesel wasnt even in a cheap tax bracket!

id advise ANYONE to steer well clear of the 1.3cdti lumps..unless you like going nowhere fast for not an economical diesel that likes to eat turbos for sunday dinner (ie weekly lol)

Common for front anti-roll bar links causing a knocking. Sometimes sounds like it's coming from rear.
Not bad cars. After '07 need fully synthetic oil so service is a little more expensive.
But not much goes wrong.
I've driven my brothers 1.6T SRi and my sister in laws Arctic edition VXR.
To be honest, I liked both of them. Would probably have a VXR if I was to get one.

I had one as a company car, the 1.2 3 door and looked okay but was painful on the motorway and very boring to drive. But if she doesn't care about things like that then yeah go for it!

they have a pretty ugly back end imo but to drive they are ok, on par with fiesta's and puntos (based on the 1.2 engines) i looked at them in jan and they were doing a pretty strong deal with some hefty discounts from some partner scheme with other companies and a pre paid credit card think it was £500. however imo go for a fez and try out the new ecoboost 1L they are surprisingly good and the fez is nicer looking inside and out with more features as standard.

She's decided on a 1.4 16v one, it's 9 months old with 6k on it. For £8,500 and they'll give £750 part ex for her old one.
It was gutless, quite surprised I thought it would be a bit more nippy. She's happy, it'll keep her off my case.
