For instance - If you take your gear linkages out, you will have great difficulty selecting gears, But by no means is it impossible.

Well, Its almost impossible to change gear whilst your driving, but thats just a technicality.

Whats happened with your gear linkages? or what are the symptons of you not being able to select gears?

I bought a set of these for my old VTR after I ruined one of the old gear linkage cups when changing the clutch. I fit the knackered cup to see what the result would be and it would fall off the gearbox jamming the gears leaving me totally unable to change out of gear. They're easily accessible just remove the air box and they are behind the head.
