Morning all, managed find another issue with my vtr :-/ Iv just got back from a 140 mile round trip and noticed an odd noise once id got onto side streets. Its got a constant squeak as if it was a wheel bearing however, it also has a loud rubbing noise which isnt affected by cornering. It makes the noise when going over a bump in the road or if i keep the clutch pressed :-/ Can the wheel bearing cause this? Only reason i doubt it is due to the rubbing noise being constantly when the clutch is pressed, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt.

If it still makes the noise when the clutch is in that just rules out the engine side.
Could be a wheel bearing, just it up and give the wheels a good wobble, check for any play

Cheers Aldred, what i meant with the clutch is, when the clutch is pressed it happens instantly until i take my foot off. Had a look at all the wheels and cant feel any play. However NSF does squeak a lot when spun, will get it to the garage on friday. Also noticed my rear shocks seem to be leaking oil but theyre spax nitrogen dampers :-/ they were brand new and only fitted about 4 weeks ago :-/ Having a real nightmare just lately :-(

gas shocks use nitrogen to prevent oil aeration. a plastic bag filled with nitrogen is placed in the oil reservoir space between the inner and outer tube of a single tube shock. Since it is compressible it permits oil volume change during shaft movement and since it is in its own separate bag, it does not mix with the shock oil. Shock oil is special oil for high temperature use.
Not my words, off the web. In short it still contains oil.
