rear beam repair

Hi i want to ask is it hard to change the rear beams bearing? My is not good and i have a repair kit but i dont have the instructios for the kit. Maybe somebody has a guide on this and could share?

Never done it before as I just changed my whole rear beam when mine went but from the research I did then yes they're hard to change as you need specialist tools, ie a massive press to get the trailing arm pin out and back in again. Usually a lorry garage or just a Citroen dealer will have one! Also if everything is rusty, which it will be, you'll end up stuck at certain nuts and bolts that wont come undone etc.

Ok so i have a litle play in my left wheel and i am in iceland i dont have the money to buy a axle and ship it to here. Is it best to leave it like this or just try to change it?

Are there no second hand saxos in Iceland breaking that you can get a decent axle off of?

I rebuilt mine using the bearing kit from IM Axles, first thing you need to do is remove the trailing arms on both sides and assess the condition of the stud pins. Any marks/scratches/pitting and they will decrease the life of the new bearings. I then just removed the old bearings and put the new ones in, making sure they where the correct way round.

No there is no saxo in iceland i have one of 2 vts in iceland and i saw 2 other i think one is a 1,1 and another a vtr.

so about 4 in total left. Rest in motorsport.

ok so i think i will try to change it myself because i have to pass mot this month and whant to fix it as it scares me that it can fall apart or something.
