Hello people
I paid £500 for a '03 vtr 8 valve with 6 months tax and 10 mot off a mate at work, unfortunately he knew nothing of the cars history, its not perfect but what fun i've had, not planning on doing any serious stuff to it but i've managed to pick up a strut brace for £20 off gumtree, really sharpened up the front end(and i'd recommend all novice vtr owners get one, a green cone sports airfilter, £12 online( expensive are out there but its doing its job) a powerflex lower engine mount £32 (highly recommended ) a haynes manual £7, and a obd2 bluetooth fault code reader £7 (this is a must to help solve any niggles)
What a cracking little motor !!!! cheap to insure ( i am 38) really good on petrol, probably going to upgrade the brake pads, really pleased with her:y:
Enjoy people, i'm definitely no expert but i'm a competent DIY'er, but anyone needs any help or advice drop me a line

Welcome to the forum :)

The cone filter is probably actually costing you power but other than that it sounds good!

Post up some pictures :)

Any recommendations on air filter ?? or cheap DIY additions, what a great motor though, been driving for 19 years, had a multitude of late 80's/early 90's Astra/cav SRI's, and i'm loving it, i successfully carried out a cylinder head/head gasket change on my old mgzs so i'm looking forward to tinkering with her
